Chaotic Crazy Castle for Commodore AMIGA 500
A downloadable game
Chaotic Crazy Castle for Commodore AMIGA 500 is a platformer game programmed in just two weeks (and it shows!) by Alberto Sgaggero on the legendary Amiga 500 using AMOS BASIC.
In this game, you'll guide a little mage with a big hat on his quest for magical herbs that will allow him to brew a potion to make himself grow taller.
The game is inspired by the great 8-bit classics Manic Miner and Jet Set Willy by Matthew Smith.
Some graphical elements are also inspired by Castlevania by Nintendo.
How to Play
Use a joystick or the arrow keys to move the little mage.
Press FIRE or SPACEBAR to jump.
Collect the flashing herbs scattered around the few (sorry, not so many) rooms of the castle.
Beware of:
- The castle guardians — evil spirits patrolling every room. Don’t touch them, or you’ll lose a life.
- Special tiles with magical effects on the little mage:
- Wood tile: you can jump through it from bottom to top, but you can’t drop down through it;
- Stone tile: you can walk over it, but you can’t jump through it from below;
- Stair tile: when you’re over this tile, you’ll automatically climb up;
- Right and left green warp tiles: stepping on these will automatically push you forward — and you can’t walk back, unless you make a jump;
- Down green warp tile: stepping on this will automatically push you downward — and you can’t walk back;
- Centered green warp tile: your left-right movements will be slowed down;
- Spring tile: jumping from this tile gives you a higher bounce;
- Exclamation tile: instant death!
Installation Instructions
Click on the Download Now button.

- An AMIGA .dsk disk image file, playable with WinUAE, FS-UAE, or other compatible Amiga emulators.
- One ProTracker modules and its corresponding OGG file:

Nice little game! Would be better to allow character to be able to go up/down on the ladder. Couldn't get him to go down and found out all you can do is go up automatically.
Letting the character go up and down ladders was actually my first idea, but since I'm not that great at coding, I quickly messed up the logic and couldn’t get it to work the way I wanted. So I decided to turn that 'bug' into a design choice instead! Some of the levels were actually built around the fact that the character can only go up the ladders.
If I ever make Chaotic Crazy Castle 2, I’ll definitely try to let the player climb both ways! :)
