About the Project
X-Wing Simulator is a small demo-game created using the AMOS BASIC interpreter for classic Amiga computers.
It’s a nostalgic and light-hearted tribute to Star Wars, 1980s arcade games, and the joy of retro programming.

The Story
Luke, his sister Leia, and their friends Han, Chewbacca, C-3PO, and R2-D2 are spending a Saturday evening in the Mos Eisley Cantina, enjoying a relaxed moment playing a fantastic arcade machine called “X-Wing Simulator” while listening to some good music.
Yes, it’s a really boring story.

The Demo-Game
The idea for this mini-game was inspired by scenes from Star Wars: Episode IV

How to Play

Mission Briefing (Main Menu)
Use the joystick (Port 2) to navigate the menu (Up/Down) and press the Fire button to adjust your mission parameters:

• Mission Time: Set the time limit for your combat run (60, 90, or 120 seconds).
• Enemy Skill: Adjust how frequently the enemy TIE Fighter performs evasive maneuvers (Low, Medium, or High).
• Combat Speed: Change the responsiveness of your targeting computer (Normal or Jedi).
• Target Lock: Choose the size of the valid hit area in your crosshair (Small, Medium, or Large).
• Music: Toggle the background music ON or OFF.
• Mission Start: Select this option and press Fire to deploy!

Gameplay

• Aim: You are the gunner! Use the joystick to move your field of view and keep the evasive TIE Fighter centered on your targeting screen.
• Lock On: When the TIE Fighter is close enough to the center of your crosshair, your computer will flash, indicating a successful Target Lock.
• Shoot: Press the Fire button ONLY when you have a Target Lock to hit the TIE Fighter and score points (+10 points per hit).
• Evade: Stay sharp! If the TIE Fighter moves too far from the center, it will escape the sector. You will lose valuable time while the targeting computer searches for a new target.
• Endgame: The mission ends when the timer reaches zero.

Track fast, shoot true, and try to achieve the highest score possible!
