Press Fire PONG for Commodore AMIGA 500 isn’t just another Pong clone, it’s a reimagined arcade experience with unique gameplay mechanics and dynamic visual effects. Programmed by Alberto Sgaggero on the legendary Amiga using AMOS BASIC, this version delivers old-school vibes with a modern edge.

Originally born as a VIC-20 project, Press Fire PONG was created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of ATARI Pong, in collaboration with the Facebook community Retro Programmers Inside. The VIC-20 version is still available here: Press Fire PONG for VIC-20.

How to play
Unlike traditional Pong, in this version, you must move the paddle up or down in a different way:

• Hold FIRE → paddle moves up
• Release FIRE → paddle moves down

This minimal control scheme makes every match intense.
The “cabinet” screen isn’t stable, it will wobble, flash, and tilt as the action heats up.
Expect surprises:

• When the ball bounces on gray borders → the ball suddenly inverts its course
• When the ball bounces on dark gray borders → the ball vanishes through one side and reappears on the opposite side, just like Pac-Man

You can challenge the AMIGA, battle a friend, or push yourself in solo endurance mode. Every match feels different, unpredictable, and challenging.

• An AMIGA .dsk disk image file, playable with WinUAE, FS-UAE, or other compatible AMIGA emulators.
