May the 4th Be With Your Amiga – Tie Fighter Simulator
A downloadable game
A retro demo-game for AMIGA computers by Alberto Sgaggero
About the Project
Tie Fighter Simulator is a small demo-game created using the AMOS BASIC interpreter for classic Amiga computers.
This is a nostalgic and light-hearted tribute to Star Wars, 1980s electronic games, and the joy of retro programming.
The Story
Luke and his father Darth Vader are spending time together in the Mos Eisley Cantina, enjoying a father-son moment playing Tie Fighter Simulator and listening to some good music.
Yes, it’s that kind of project.
The Demo-Game
The project started in 2021 as a personal exercise to relearn AMOS BASIC on the Amiga.
The idea for the mini-game (a kind of 1980s electronic LED handheld) was inspired by a scene from Star Wars: Episode IV:
It was abandoned in 2022, resumed in 2024, and finally completed and released in 2025.
It’s a silly project — and that’s kind of the point.

Final Words
This project was created purely for fun and to celebrate a mix of retro tech and iconic science fiction.
If you're a fan of the Amiga, Star Wars, or both, we hope this little experiment brings a smile to your face.

Nice new Star Wars themed game for the Amiga. I added it to my new "New Amiga Games May 2025" video along with other recently released games. I hope you enjoy the video.
Thank you! Nice video, congratulations. All the games are fantastic. I especially liked: Gemdalus, AmiSeaFox, Brixx, Pitfall2 (nostalgia!), and Super Star Wars Holiday Special! Thank you for including my game as well.
Why do you refuse to release this in a standard LhA archive on Aminet so everyone can enjoy it?
No one has ever asked me to "release this in a standard LHA archive on Aminet so everyone can enjoy it", so tell me: how could I have refused to do it?
Sorry, but I don’t really understand the point of your comment.
I did find the X-Wing model on Aminet (which I clearly mentioned both on the itch.io page and in the program itself), but I don’t usually use that site, nor do I know exactly how to "release this in a standard LHA archive on Aminet so everyone can enjoy it".
I make things like this as a hobby — I don’t earn any money or fame from it. I release the games I develop simply so others might enjoy them, but it’s not a job. I can’t afford to spend whole days just thinking about how to distribute this.
That’s all.
Here's the point. Amiga users rely on FTP for file downloading and Aminet for distribution.
OK, can you point me to a tutorial on how to create an LHA archive and how to insert it into Aminet, please? If I find the time, I will do it. Thanks.
Fair enough. Here's a tutorial for using LhA:

About how to upload files to the world's largest Amiga file repository, here are the official step-by-step instructions (please note that they include using FTP):

There are other ways, you know. Not every Amiga user relies on FTP and aminet.
Nice little game!
Thanks for the appreciation—and for the video too! Very nice! ^__^
