C=64 REX
A downloadable game
C=64 REX is a retro game written (badly) by Alberto (BCO) Sgaggero in BASIC V2 for the glorious Commodore 64.
It is a personal reinterpretation of the Dinosaur Game.
Just like in Chrome Dino, the player controls a very pixelated Tyrannosaurus Rex running across a very white and very empty desert.
The game was originally programmed back in 2022 for the Commodore VIC-20 as an entry for a competition, but it wasn't finished in time.
You can find the VIC-20 version of the game here:
https://fourseasons.itch.io/vicrex
The goal is simple: avoid the strange cacti by jumping over them.
Press '1' for a small jump
Press '2' for a jump twice as high
Press the space bar to start the game
Have fun!
Disclaimer
The machine language routine used to switch the screen from 40 to 22 columns was taken from the book Paper Book, programmi per C64, published by J.Soft Editrice in 1984.
