OuT.Rex for Commodore AMIGA 500

OuT.Rex is a small retro game created by Alberto (BCO) Sgaggero in AMOS BASIC for the legendary Commodore Amiga. 

The game is a personal reinterpretation of the Chrome Dino game, mixed with a strong dose of inspiration from the classic SEGA arcade masterpiece OutRun. 

This time, the famous Tyrannosaurus Rex is no longer running through a lonely desert: now he drives a sporty convertible along a nostalgic seaside road filled with palm trees, seagulls, and old-school arcade vibes. 

The project originally started back in 2022 on the Commodore VIC-20 as an entry for a competition, before evolving into several different versions over the years.

GOAL 

The goal is simple: avoid palm trees and seagulls by jumping over them. 

INSTRUCTIONS 

The package includes two different versions of the game: 

- an ASCII-style retro version 

- a colorful 16-bit bitmap version with MOD music 

You can choose which version to launch from the Startup-Sequence or directly from the Amiga CLI prompt. 

Instructions for both versions are included in the game.

The background MOD music is my personal reinterpretation of the original SEGA Outrun soundtrack. Some sound effects were inspired by the original arcade version and by Arcade Parodius. All credits belong to their respective authors.
